With over 10 years of financial services experience, D. Weimer is a former managing director with Plaza Investment Managers, the now-shuttered investment arm of GEICO, the auto insurer, and the only independently managed equity portfolio within Berkshire Hathaway. PIM managed in excess of $3 billion in a highly concentrated, long-only portfolio. Ms. Weimer began her research career at PIM as a buy-side analyst in 1999, focusing on retail, manufacturing, telecommunications, consumer goods, and pharma. Prior to her recruitment to PIM, she was a correspondent for Business Week magazine, covering manufacturing, energy, and retail. She also has written extensively about politics and regulation, including award-winning coverage of environmental issues for American Lawyer Media.-
She holds degrees in German and Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the Delta Epsilon Phi honor society |
